Getting wed video.

The advantage of two photographers covering your wedding is huge. The importance of two ‘proper’ photographers covering your wedding is immense.

Front and back coverage, especially of those special moments in the service in contrasting styles is priceless, plus wider coverage and more candid moments before and after.

In our world it’s a ‘no brainer’!

You simply can’t understand how different we are and how much you get from us unless you meet  and chat.

Become one of the enlightened and see if we’re free for your wedding day.

Ian & John,

The Photographers.

Getting ready video.

Here’s a little video with some ‘getting ready’ moments from 2012.

Looking forward to a fab 2013 – but still waiting for the cold to go away!

John’s travels.

If you hadn’t worked it out, there are two of us here at The Photographers and when we’re not shooting weddings our photography goes off in very opposite directions. John loves to travel to far away lands, mainly Africa and the Far East. He spends a lot of time going where the tourists don’t go, and living, eating and sleeping amongst the local population, often in places that wouldn’t suit many of us – especially me! What evolves from these travels are images full of empathy and emotion with an artistic element that most would aspire to.

We may post some from earlier trips in time to come but for now here are some of his favorites from Vietnam January 2013. I know these have absolutely nothing to do with weddings but I should mention that we do cover weddings abroad too.

Thanks for reading and enjoy looking, Ian.

Spring Selection 3 – ‘A morning story’.

Not many ‘getting ready’ pictures are chosen to go into storybooks – but a wedding day isn’t just about the book!

Coverage during the preparations provides memories that you can look back on – without everyone else having to see.

Consider also, that however self-conscious you may be and however much you ‘hate having my picture taken’, by the time you get to your service you’re an old hand and take it all in your stride!

Making you at ease and forgetting about the cameras is all part of us arriving on your day as ‘Ian and John’, not just the people doing the photos. Getting to know you pre wedding is all part of the service and makes a big difference.

For us it has to be fun and we’ll guarantee to make you laugh – if we cant do that you wont have booked us.

There are lots of shots of the morning that it wouldn’t be fair to post – but ask Sam if she wished they hadn’t been taken – I think not!

‘The Photographers’ giving a top class and personal wedding photography service in Essex.

Not one wedding photographer but two – and no assistants or students. Evening slide show, full indoor and outdoor lighting, evening studio -does anybody do it better?

Spring Selection 2.

A relaxed style shouldn’t be used as an excuse for missing important shots or having no confidence and keeping in the background. At The Photographers you get it all – two pro photographers (no assistants or students), almost twice the coverage (only almost because we work together for some), two different styles at the same time, an evening slide show, full indoor and outdoor lighting and a service that is personal and second to none.

You’ll get out what you put in because we can’t do it without you!

So for wedding photography in Essex you know who to call – The photographers.

Spring selection.

Time to add a few selections from our spring weddings.

Our thanks to Lee and Becci for a great day.

Not that it matters, but The Photographers are now ‘The Photographers (Essex) Ltd’.

Its only a ‘business thing’! Our two photographer service (no assistants or students with us) and all the benefits remain the same.

So if you’re looking for top quality, great service and a fun team – all at a sensible price, you know who to call!

Summer round up.

We’ve had a fun summer, in spite of the weather, and met some lovely people  – too many to include here. As for the highlights – boats, horses and reds cars spring to mind!

So now we move into ‘Show Season’, starting with The Wedding Event Company biggie at the Brentwood Centre this weekend, 3rd and 4th September – we’ve not exhibited at this event before so let’s hope it lives up to the hype!. We’ll be over to the left of the stage as you face it so stop and say hello if you’re there.

Graphistudio have continued to produce our wonderful books which I can say with all honesty,  no customer has ever been anything other than deeply satisfied with. Blown away would be a more accurate description! We’ll continue to use Graphi next year (or until someone can do better) and hope to find a chance to visit their fabulous Ceconi Castle HQ. Not far from the Alps – could be a firms outing at ski time!

So, we’ve had men wearing dresses, men carrying oars (no, not a pun!), a bride on a boat, a bride on a horse, and a bride who fell off a swing.

We’ve had old cars, new cars but best of all red cars! An E type Jaguar and a Ferrrari – both spectacular but in different ways. The same applies to us ‘The Photographers’, two differing but complimentary styles to give you the very best coverage of your day. I’m obviously the Ferrari by the way!

We also picked up some new names this summer. John and Ian, aka Baz and Eebi, happened to point out that in a dodgy stag weekend photo one of our grooms looked remarkably like John Luke Picard – ‘Let it be so’ we exclaimed! His retort was that one of us was a Phil Collins lookalike and the other the dead spit of Theo Paphitis. Well I said, “There’s something in the air tonight’ and John said. “I’m out”! The groom  was obviously delusional with pre-wedding nerves!

We only had a couple of ‘diplomatic incidents’ this summer. The consoling arm around the shoulder of the grumpy granny – who had just had rotor cuff surgery! The posing a  family group shot including two brothers .’”Too gay”, and ‘Far too gay” we said whilst adjusting their stance. of course it turns out they weren’t brothers but partners but were kind enough to roll with it! And to finally I had to try and kerb jovial John’s favourite term, ‘That’s the money shot,” for a wedding that was more religious that the average – but of course it slipped out and I had to explain why it was so called! Had it been a winter round up I could of mentioned the man at an event in Sheffield who went nuts when ‘Ruche your tie sir’ John ruched before asking . “It was how I beep beep like it and I can beep beep dress my beep beep self you beep beep beep.” Bit of a grumpy sort in general we we informed, but a lesson learned.

So enough about us  here are just a few snaps from the summer.

So hard to choose these pics – not hard for you to choose us.

One step beyond!

What a great bunch of guys! The dresses all belong to the bride too – fortunately she’s used to such antics.

Now at The photographers we don’t use the term ‘second shooter’ because we are a team of two ‘proper’ photographers all the time. On this occasion we split for the preparations so both the bride and groom had great coverage of their preparations.

So, whilst all the antics are going on with the boys, everything is progressing smoothly with the girls – apart from dad’s little whoops with the champagne.

So enough pics for now – time to chill and update Facebook!

And then party into the night.

Congratulations to Gemma and Ray and thanks for making our job so easy!
